CORE IDEA

In one sentence: we isolate the leaders in strong trends

Trend Screener picks out, every day, the stocks that pass all 8 of Mark Minervini's Trend Template criteria, then ranks them within that group by weighted Relative Strength (RS). Every calculation runs on confirmed daily bars (the closing price after the market closes), free of intraday quote noise, so every U.S. name is measured by the same yardstick.

TREND TEMPLATE 8 / 8 trend criteria passed
WEIGHTED RS 99 top 1% performance overall
RESULT today's leadership candidate a stock shown in the table
Color convention. On this site, up = red and down = blue throughout. Note this is the reverse of the usual U.S. green/red — keep it in mind.

TOOL 01 · SCREENER

Screener — find today's passing stocks

The core tool you'll use most. After each close, every stock is recomputed and the ones that pass are shown in a single table. Narrow the range with the filter bar at the top, then read the names in the table.

Filter bar sample view
Search ticker or name1 All industries ▾2 RS ≥3 Leaders (RS≥95)4 Passed only (8/8)5 Liquidity (500K+)6 Reset7
  1. 1Search — type part of a ticker or company name to filter instantly.
  2. 2Industry — pick a single industry from the dropdown.
  3. 3RS ≥ — set a minimum Relative Strength yourself (e.g., 90+).
  4. 4Leaders — keep only RS 95+, the market's very top names.
  5. 5Passed only (8/8) — only names satisfying all 8 criteria. On by default; turn it off to also see names that passed only some criteria.
  6. 6Liquidity — only names with 50-day average volume of 500K+ shares. An optional filter, separate from the pass criteria.
  7. 7Reset — return all filters to their defaults.

MOVEMove Bio (sample) Biotechnology $57.10 −1.1% 94 8/8
  1. 1Stock — the ticker on top, the company name in small text below.
  2. 2Industry — the specific industry the stock belongs to.
  3. 3Close — the confirmed daily (closing) price.
  4. 4Chg — change vs. the prior day. Red is up, blue is down.
  5. 5RS — weighted Relative Strength, 1–99. Higher is stronger.
  6. 6Last month — the past month's closing trend as a tiny line (sparkline).
  7. 7Trend Template — the 8 cells are the 8 criteria. When all are filled it's a 8/8 pass.

▸ Click a column header (Stock · Close · Chg · RS · Trend Template) to sort by it. Click again to flip ascending/descending.

  1. Look as-is. On first open, "Passed only (8/8)" is on, so today's leadership candidates that passed every criterion are sorted from highest RS down.
  2. Narrow it down. Pick an industry of interest, or turn on "Leaders (RS≥95)" to see only the very top.
  3. Check the trend. Gauge the recent trend with the sparkline and change, and relative strength within the market with RS.

HOW TO READ

How to read the metrics in the tables

The four key metrics you'll meet again and again in the Screener, Industry Analysis, and detail tables.

RS Rating 99 42

Returns over several windows are summed with heavier weight on more recent ones, then converted to a percentile (1–99) against the whole market. RS 99 = top 1% performance; 70+ is the leadership candidate pool. Weights: 3 months 40% · 6/9/12 months 20% each.

Trend Template gates

Each of the 8 cells maps to one trend criterion. When all are lit it's an 8/8 pass (shown in the table); when only some are lit, the stock hasn't met every criterion yet.

8/8 passed
6/8 not passed

Sparkline

A mini chart condensing roughly the last month of closing prices. An upward slope signals the short-term trend is alive.

Change colors

Up is red and down is blue (the reverse of the usual U.S. convention). The change is vs. the prior trading day.

TOOL 02 · INDUSTRY ANALYSIS

Industry Analysis — start with the strong industries

Before looking at individual stocks, first identify the industries money is flowing into. Across 2 levels (sector · industry), each group is summarized by the equal-weighted average RS of its constituents ($150M+ market cap) and ranked from strongest down.

Industry relative-strength ranking sample view
Sector 11 Industry 144
  1. ALevel selector — "Sector" for the big picture, "Industry" for specific themes.
  2. BBar length — longer means the group's average RS is higher (stronger).
  3. CIndustry Action (1D) — the side panel shows the groups with the highest average change today.
  4. DClick a bar — its constituent stocks expand in the table below.
How to use it. Pick a strong industry first, then click its bar and keep the names that passed 8/8 — and the range naturally narrows to "leaders of a good industry."

TOOL 03 · MARKET ENVIRONMENT

Market Environment — is this a market worth buying in?

However good an individual stock looks, a weak overall market is a headwind. Market Environment shows the health of the broad trend as a trailing 60-trading-day series.

Leaders — equal-weighted cumulative return sample view

Leaders cumulative return

+18.6%

Cumulative return of an equal-weighted basket of RS 95+ leaders, rebalanced daily · 60 trading days

Leaders cumulative return
Whether the RS 95+ basket is leading the market. An upward slope = a leadership-driven market.
+18.6%
Number of passing stocks
How many names passed 8/8. Rising is a favorable sign that the trend is broadening.
142 stocks
Average RS of passers
The average strength of the passers. Higher means better-quality leadership.
94.2
Share closing up (breadth)
The share of stocks up today. Above 50% means buyers have the edge.
82%
Stocks near 52-week high
How many names are in new-high territory. More means a stronger market.
311 stocks
How to read it
When passing-stock count and breadth rise together, it's buy-favorable; when they fall together, it's grounds for raising cash.
Key point. Don't rely on a single metric — check whether several point the same way. Stretches where passing count, breadth, and near-high count rise together are the most favorable for trend trading.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to sign up or pay?
No. You can use every feature for free, with no sign-up.
When is the data updated?
Right after each market close, the full universe is recomputed. Because it's based on confirmed daily bars (the close) rather than intraday, signals don't change within the same day.
A newly listed stock I know isn't on the list.
Because the 8 criteria are built on the 200-day moving average, only stocks with more than 200 trading days of history are included.
Why is up red and down blue?
It follows the Korean market's quote convention — the reverse of the usual U.S. green (up) / red (down).
Which exchanges are covered?
All common stocks on the NYSE, NASDAQ, and AMEX. ETFs, preferred shares, SPACs, and ADRs are excluded.
Investment caution. Trend Screener is only an aid that selects stocks by quantitative criteria — it is not a buy or sell recommendation. All investment decisions and their consequences are your own. See the Disclaimer for details.
